Environmental management is a key component of the project. A detailed Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) is being prepared to guide construction activities and ensure that impacts are minimised which will be updated in due course.
The CEMP sets out procedures for:
Surface water and runoff management during construction
Control of noise, vibration, dust and air quality
Management of fuel, oils and hazardous materials
Waste management and recycling
Protection of water quality and ecological receptors
Strict environmental controls will be implemented on site, including the use of sediment control measures, bunded fuel storage, and monitoring procedures to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
